FaccioFacce (Italian for “I make faces”) is a project born from chance, movement, and instinct.

The idea began while I was traveling extensively around the world. Moving through cities, trains, streets, and crowds, I constantly found myself surrounded by faces. My brain started absorbing them unconsciously: expressions, silhouettes, tensions, emotions. I was both part of the crowd and its observer, a quiet collector of faces.

One day I found a bundle of discarded advertising prints on the street. They were produced on extremely smooth photographic paper, and throwing them away felt like a waste. So I picked them up, grabbed a Molotow marker with its iconic 5 cm tip, and started drawing.

In about one hour I produced 50 drawings.

The rule was simple: draw in a state of pure flow. No planning, no judgment, no deciding what was beautiful or not. Just let the faces appear. Each one emerged directly from the stream of consciousness, guided only by movement and instinct.

The result is a series of fluid, dynamic faces. A drawing is technically static, yet these faces never seem to rest. They feel as if they are constantly shifting, moving, dissolving, and reforming.

Later, this series inspired a tattoo project based on the same spirit. Each face is meant to be tattooed on a different person’s back, offered at a very reduced price so the collection can grow organically.

Once all the faces are tattooed, the final piece will come together: all the participants will be invited to sit in a circle with their backs facing inward, each person linking arms with the next to form a human chain. I will then film the circle while slowly rotating around it, revealing the living gallery of faces that once existed only on paper.

What began as spontaneous marks on found paper will eventually become a moving, human sculpture of faces.

Although the artworks are often shown framed in photographs, they are normally shipped without a frame. This allows them to travel safely and gives each collector the freedom to frame them according to their own space.
The framed version is available only for orders picked up in Berlin or delivered within Berlin, where someone from my team can personally hand-deliver the artwork.
